Menteri Perdagangan (Mendag) Budi Santoso mengajak pelaku usaha Indonesia memperkuat citra atau ciri khas agar dapat menjual produknya di luar negeri.
Mendag Budi saat melepas ekspor produk adonan roti produksi PT Juara Roti Indonesia ke Uni Emirat Arab (UEA), di Klaten, Jawa Tengah, Jumat, mengatakan produk usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) Indonesia memiliki kualitas dan daya saing yang lebih baik dari negara lain.
“Mari bangun citra produk Indonesia dalam hal apa pun, karena meskipun memiliki kualitas dan daya saing mumpuni, beberapa negara masih menganggap produk Indonesia berbeda. Hal ini mempengaruhi penjualan kita di pasar mancanegara,” ujar Budi melalui keterangan di Jakarta, Jumat.
Budi menyebut, dari total jumlah UMKM saat ini, hanya sekitar 3,74 persennya yang terus bertumbuh secara konsisten. Apabila ke depannya lebih banyak jumlah UMKM yang terus konsisten berkembang, kata Budi lagi, maka kontribusi dan peran UMKM terhadap perekonomian Indonesia akan jauh lebih besar.
Kementerian Perdagangan (Kemendag) telah memberikan berbagai fasilitas untuk mendukung pertumbuhan UMKM, termasuk Program UMKM Berani Inovasi, Siap Adaptasi Ekspor (UMKM BISA Ekspor).
Program tersebut menjadi salah satu program prioritas, selain pengamanan pasar dalam negeri dan perluasan pasar ekspor.
“Kemendag mempunyai tiga program, salah satunya UMKM BISA Ekspor. Melalui program ini, Kemendag menggelar pendampingan dan pelatihan dan akan membantu pemasaran melalui lebih 40 perwakilan perdagangan dagang yang ada di negara mitra,” kata Budi lagi.
Pada periode Januari-September 2024, ekspor produk makanan olahan Indonesia ke pasar dunia mencapai 4 miliar dolar AS atau tumbuh 6,9 persen dari periode yang sama pada 2023. Sedangkan, selama lima tahun terakhir (2019-2023), tren ekspor produk makanan olahan Indonesia tumbuh sebesar 6,81 persen.
